With snow breaking through the clouds of Kent this morning it felt like the perfect opportunity to really test my new Crossfly ikon 3” trunks! For those of you who follow my social Media, you will know that my underwear choices are ordinarily a little smaller than this cut! But I have been pleasantly surprised by the ultimate comfort factor that Crossfly have created in this longer athletic style of trunk.
My gripe with boxer briefs or trunks is the “ride up factor” that you ordinarily get when you are an active person and have muscular thighs. Invariably the fabric makes its way into the groin area and can cause not only discomfort, but chafing as well – needless to say this is not what I want! After several outings, I can report back that this is not the case with the Crossfly ikon. Chafing occurs when movement of the body is at odds with the movement of the fabric (my mind is triggered back to taped nipples for the London Marathon) but when there is a stretch that can move with the wearer, any adverse effects will be minimal. And this is exactly what this pair do!
Built with comfort and movement in mind, the fabric has a lot of stretch and is a super soft (you won’t believe how soft) modal fabric that moves with the wearer instead of fighting against you.
These trunks are high performance wear and have been created with everyday use in mind, for the people with whom being active is LIFE.The patterned design that I received is super fun and I love the festive (yet also somehow Summery) colour and pattern combo.
The new technology that has been developed on these underwear are simple and effective, prioritising comfort for the male anatomy whilst on the move. The X fly, means easy access with minimal effort. No more pulling your underwear down to pee – instead the X fly makes this super easy for you. It also adds to the aesthetic and adds to the overall fit. The Cocoon pocket is a pouch that serves comfort (all day long) – allowing a natural hang and the feel of no-underwear, underwear. I am not usually a pouch advocate, whilst the aesthetic is improved, the discomfort can sometimes far outweigh the benefit! But not so with these trunks, they truly are IKON status.
These innovations combined with (I am pretty sure) the softest fabric that I have encountered, means that these trunks are a must have for the active man.
