As a man who wears a bow tie on the regular, I find myself questioning why I am the only one?!

I appreciate that most peoples work attire is not going to be formal wear. But I work in a business where the Dinner Jacket was absolutely the expected uniform for evening shows. And yet as the new generation have made their way through the ranks, I notice that this tradition has fallen by the wayside. So a drift are the ideals that I have noticed a purposeful effort to remove neckwear from their uniforms altogether 😱

The thing about bow ties, is that there is actually a lot of variation of design that goes into them. In the case of a standard neck tie, the expected standard is a thicker design, and if it’s more casual/formal then a skinny tie becomes acceptable. That’s your lot. It’s over, it’s done. And yes you can get them in all different colours and patterns, but it’s not the same.

The bow tie is so much more than just a fashion accessory, it’s a state of mind! Bow ties have personalities and encourage the wearers to show theirs. A bow tie is not just for Christmas or a family wedding, a bow tie is a way of life. So I urge you to live your very best life and Don that little neck bow with pride and make sure that the new generation fully understands the importance of this menswear tradition… and if it doesn’t work for you, then wear them with a pair of black briefs and you’ve got a sexy bedroom look 😉
