ThatIsBeyond… once in a blue moon!

This weekend, I took the once in a blue moon opportunity to have a weekend that was all about me! Gym and work went out of the window and instead I spent time being creative, life admin and spending time with my family… I should maybe do it more often.

I spend my life being pretty hectic and filling my days with activities, responsibilities and errands and on top of that I have set myself a pretty full-on blog schedule too! So I have decided to re-visit an idea I had a few years ago, an idea that compiled a lot of my interests in a sort of summary – A colour story if you will.

So peppered in amongst my usual content you will start to see some more of these posts which cover a larger span of my interests all tied to together by a colour.

Once in a BLUE moon.

Vintage style T-Shirt by Adidas (purchased from Vinted)

I am an advocate for Vinted. I am consciously trying to make less of a negative impact on the earth and one of the ways in which I can do that is to shop second hand. I have never been let down by the quality of the items. And because the prices are so reasonable, I take a chance, much more readily, on items that challenge my fashion comfort zone!

This T-Shirt is that vintage style which has come back into resurgence following Nick Nelson’s Heartstopper fashions. This is a twist on that style with the piped collar and synonymous triple striped short sleeves. I love to take a popular staple and find a twist on it, and this dual bluetone top does just that. £6 from Vinted – you really can’t go wrong.

Tropic Ocean Dive Pore Clearing Serum

Tropic was a brand that I discovered through a pal on Instagram. I have made a couple of purchases over the past years and I have to say their products are real quality. This tiny bottle was part of a free gift set with another purchase, but it is a glorious little product. It smells delicious and does a great job leaving the skin feeling fresh and clean. Naturally derived, and a vegan formula I will be looking to get the full size when funds permit!

Tropic Pure Lagoon – Blemish Prevention Serum

Another tropic mini, this one I use if I notice the elements having an effect on my skin. In winter my skin dries out and consequently more oil is then produced. This can cause break outs, but this little bottle has done a great job evening the skin texture out. In short it’s a little bottle of joy.

AC Briefs with pouch front.

Andrew Christian Blue and Neon briefs

These briefs by Andrew Christian have been a favourite of mine since I got them. The blue and neon colour palette is vibrant and fun, and the pouch front design is by far one of my favourite pouches. You can wear it all day in comfort with the full confidence you get from feeling super sexy too.the color has started to drain from them as I have worn and washed them so many times. They are a firm favourite in my undie drawers.

ASOS Blue Metal Collar Accessory

This little metal bar is a modern accessory that can replace a necktie, or can be used in conjunction with a tie to catch some light and create nice collar shape on the shirt. Simply place through the collar holes and let it do its job! Bought from ASOS it’s a piece I come back to, when wearing a tie is too much of a ball ache!

La Roche-Posay Serozinc cleansing and soothing solution

I LOVE LA ROCHE-POSAY.

And this to me is one of their best. This mist is easy to use and leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean. Even with clean skin there is sometimes that feeling of dirt and grime from the daily commute attaching itself! So I use this spray with a cotton round and get myself grime-free in seconds. You can’t mistake the blue packaging of LRP and honestly all of their products that I have tried, have been incredible.

Wonder by R.J. Palacio

A lot of you will be aware of the movie of this book starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. But the book is a real heart-warmer in a way that only words on a page can capture you. It’s an emotional and uplifting read, which is a real character study of August – our main character as well as the people in his life. The book flies by, and I’ll be honest, got me into a tearful place. Must Read.

Wedding Ready!

Tie and pocket square set Amazon

The blue flowers on this tie and pocket square set are really something. This matte cotton finish is really homely and makes the floral pattern the star of the show. Whites toes tend to be a rarity, but I love the bold blue and this plain background. The perfect wedding accessory set for a Summer Wedding, I think this design says a whole lot whilst also being a laid back more casual version of formal wear.

Blistex Medplus Lip balm

The lip balm in the little blue pot, chapped lips get the nourishment they need from the Medplus formula. In Winter I don’t leave home without this magic formula to hand. It certainly tackles dryness and gives some comfort when the lips get sore.

So this is my #bluecolourstory and I hope you enjoy this format as much as I enjoy sharing them.
