ThatIsBeyond… Emptying my Empties Bag!

It is “the lot” of a #malegroomingblogger to go through a fair number of products each month! With that in mind, this post is a quick run through the last three months and the products that have punctuated 2015 so far!

This is a general overview from shower gels to aftershaves, and mostly the products available on the highstreet. This, Gentlemen, is my empties post!

Osmo Effects Detoxify – 1 Day A Week Clarifying Cleanser
Believe it or not, this is a new brand to my collection! This is an intensely cleansing shampoo that works deep into the hair with its detoxifying quality. Minty in fragrance, this has ensured good conditioning of the hair. Use once a week, and a normal shampoo for the the rest of the time. This is a great product that made a distinct difference to the condition of my hair, breaking down product and leaving the hair full of natural moisture
£5.00 (250ml) feelunique
Fat Hair Amplifying Conditioner
Fat hair, is one of my favourite haircare brands, sulphate free, they are less abrasive one scalp, and massively reduce dryness and flakiness. The conditioner ensures hair that has movement and that is is manageable. This brand often has a good sale in Superdrug. I recently purchased a replacement for £2.77!
£5.59 (300ml) Superdrug
Currently on sale for £2.77
Fat Hair Amplifying Shampoo
The shampoo from the same range as the conditioner, this is another sulphate free option. This is a hassle free shampoo that cleans well and does not dry out the scalp. For best results use with the conditioner.
£5.59 (300ml) Superdrug
Currently on sale for £2.77

Molton Brown – Indian Cress Purifying Shampoo (pictured below)
A great fresh scent that left my hair with a natural shine, this was a fantastic product to be using in the winter months.with sandalwood and jasmine amongst the ingredient list, this is a nice unisex fragrance for the bathroom.
The only negative was the packaging of the product (mine was a smaller size in a gift set) the plastic on the cap was very sharp and the cap broke far too easily. Other than that, a really tip top product.
£18.00 (300ml) Motonbrown.com

Ted Baker – Tour De Ted Hair And Bodywash
Always a fan of old school bergamot fragrances, this blend is a particularly good one. With Cedarwood, Sandalwood and Musk, this is a quality bodywash that is all man! I am a big fan of Ted Baker, whether it’s products or fashion, and this bodywash is representative of this brand’s personal style. It foams well too!
£4.07 (200ml) boots.com

Avon For Men – Invigorating Bodywash
As part of the Essentials range for Avon Men, I perhaps had lower expectations for this product, but in fact it was a pleasant surprise to use such an inherently masculine bodywash, that was not too overpowering. It lathered well and the fragrance had a decent pay off. All in all a great bargain product.

Clarins for Men – Anti Dark Circles Serum
First things first, there will be a full post on the Clarins Male grooming range being post really soon. It is a fantastic collection that covers all areas of concern for a modern man.
As someone who deals daily with the plague of dark circles, I wanted this product to work… And it did. It brightens up the affected area a little, and also firms up the elastic quality of the skin itself. Most guys cannot tackle this issue with make up, but this is a product that provides a natural solution. It won’t make them disappear, but it will brighten the eyes, the difference is incredible!
I used a travel size, but the full size serum is available from Boots.

The Sanctuary Spa – Matte Perfecting Hydra Lotion
This is another product, that I consider an excellent daytime moisturiser. A middle child between a cream and a serum, it is easily applied and is not too heavy on the skin. I also find this blends well with SPF to maintain a full day’s moisture as well as protection from the sun.
Although the Sanctuary are Synonymous with women’s products, this is an excellent unisex product that does not clog the pores or add toouch shine. This is a sturdy all round moisturiser.
£13.50 (50ml) Sanctuary.com
The Sanctuary Spa – Blemish Serum
This gel formulation is fast working and full of core ingredients for tackling spots and blemishes. Salicylic Acid tackles clogged up pores, by opening them up and neutralising the bacteria build up within them. The most incredible aspect though, is how fast acting it is. I can noticeably reduce the impact of the spots over night and helps prevent redness. This has been added to my Holy Grail skincare regime, simply because it is so effective.
£10.00 (15ml) Sanctuary.com
Jack Black – Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser
I love this cleanser. It’s unique  formulation creates an almost sticky application. Instead of rubbing the product around the surface of the face, it works into the pores, and leaves your skin feeling so fresh and cleansed. The sage and Aloe formulation is amazing, and it not only cleanses, but acts a a toner as well. This truly is a must have product!
£18.00 (177ml) Boots.com
Lush – Tea Tree Water Toner
This is a great product for when your skin is feeling dry and tired, and you don’t want to risk anything too astringent on it. This clears up the dirt, tones and soothes the skin. There are also anti-bacterial qualities to the ingredients that ensure that this is also spot preventative. And as it’s from Lush, you know you can trust the brand.
£7.95 (250ml) lush.co.uk

Pecksniff’s of Brighton – Professional Eau De Toilette
This was part of a “Library of Fragrance”, Travel sizes that are from a spectrum of aroma. This is a strong masculine smell that is full of musk and cedar. The perfect choice for the professional man.
If you haven’t checked out their unique blends, you must!
The newest Fragrance Library is:
£45.00 (6x 10ml) pecksniffs.com
Ted Baker M Eau De Toilette
A more aromatic scent than I would normally associate with Ted Baker, this is actually something a little different. There is a similarity tween this and Joop! Although it’s not as substantial and a tad fresher.
I actually really like it, although this is definitely an evening scent.
£8.99 (30ml) Fragrance Direct
Paul Smith – Extreme Sport Eau De Toilette
Extreme sport is a fresh and energising fragrance, that lasts for a long time, of all of my fragrances, this one has got the most compliments! There is something young and fun about this sporty themed aftershave.
Paul Smith has its own preppy vibe and I feel that this sits perfectly in that bracket, and is a fresh summers fragrance.
£38.00 (100ml) paulsmith.co.uk

Avon Footworks – Odour Neutralising Foot Spray
This has been a great antidote to smelly, sweaty trainers. Some blokes just exude a certain foot aroma, and for that we need to prepare our footwear (especially when we have guests)!  This spray just freshens up footwear and is perfect for when you put your shoes away. Avon also do a liquid formulation which is good directly on the skin, but I have found this more effective on the fabric of the trainers themselves.
£2.10 (75ml) avonshop.co.uk
Bath and Bodyworks Pocketbac – Mr Hedgehog Orchard Apple
Those who read my blog regularly, will know all too well that I am obsessive about anti bacterial hand gels, I go through loads and loads of them. This one is an fresh Spring Apple scent, that smells like a Jolly Rancher tastes (if that makes sense!)
Not available in the UK unless bought through EBAY they are around £2-£2.50

Taylor Of Old Bond Street – Coconut Luxury Shaving Cream.
This is a delicious smelling Coconut shave cream, that creates a really fantastic lather. Taylor of Old Bond Street is a traditional brand, with quality products that suit the modern male. Slather this over the face with a badger hair brush, and you will see the quality first hand. I have to get my hands on some more of this range STAT!
£8.95 (150g) tayloroldbondst.co.uk
Clinique For Men – Exfoliating Tonic
This was a development from Clinique’s scruffing lotion, and this is a non negotiable for me. It’s a great product that does a really great job of keeping the skin clean and clear. It clears out the pores and leaves you looking fresh faced! Every man needs a bottle of this tonic!
£16.50 (200ml) Clinique.com

And that my friends is an extremely long list of empties and their reviews! Maybe you want to try some of these babies out! And why not let me know what you think of them in the comments.
