Every now and then I spot a new brand and have to find out more about them. OutTHERE underwear was featured on my pal’s Instagram stories @justanudeguy and I instantly wanted to see more from this Aussie brand.

When I contacted James and Louise, about outTHERE, I instantly knew that I wanted to collaborate and share their designs directly with you guys!

So here is my Spotlight on OutTHERE underwear…

So James, tell me how your love for underwear developed into a business?

I have been wearing uncomfortable underwear since going through puberty and sick of paying for underwear that doesn’t last. So when COVID hit and we had more time on our hands, Louise and I decided to start outTHERE Underwear.

Comfort is a huge factor for any underwear fan, as well as how you feel wearing them! I always advocate for the inner confidence that wearing great underwear can bring.

What are the three most important factors to consider when designing underwear? 

“We believe that when it comes to underwear comfort, fabric choice & quality are the main factors in the overall design”.

There is nothing worse than underwear that just gets tired or loses the fit over time. And modern fabrics mean that this no longer has to be the case. I imagine in Australia the choice of fabric is even more important in the hot weather! We don’t have that to contend with in the UK (although as I say this we are literally in the middle of a heatwave 🥵)

“outTHERE is a proud Australian product, that prides itself on comfort and quality. We are proud Aussies that have created a brand that is deisgned and made right here in Sydney Australia.”

That is definitely a huge selling point, and the Aussies certainly know good underwear and swimwear style, there is no mistaking that.

“Us, Aussies are pretty laid back and like to let it all hang out”

I can see this has been featured in the overall design aesthetic for outTHERE too

So James is your preference Boxers or briefs?

“Definitely briefs!”

Same man, same. You can’t beat a classic, great fitting brief. How many pairs are in the outTHERE collection?

“5 different pairs at the moment, but we are looking at expanding on this range in the next few months.”

Exciting! I can’t wait to see what else you come up with. My readers will know that I am an underwear and swimbrief fan (and U.K. advocate!) so which new elements will feature in your future designs?

“New fabrics. And we are looking to design some new swimwear by our next summer, and eventually some sort of boy leg briefs.”

The sky is the limit then! I cannot wait to see the swimmer designs when they come to market and will certainly be looking to add some outTHERE to my collection in the very near future.
