ThatIsBeyond… Skull and bones leopard Brief.

Whilst I undoubtedly have an extensive underwear collection, other than the occasional striped pair, patterns are not something that feature heavily within that collection! I like a lot of colour and yes, a pattern can be fun, but there’s something classic about a solid colour that just seems less fussy and more chic.

When shopping online at: http://www.hautunderwear.com (discount code THATISBEYOND15 if you fancy it…) I stumbled across this leopard print pair by Skull and Bones and I was taken back in time – so I had to buy them!

Grrrrrrrr

When a I was a very young child, my family were not very well off, and having an older brother before me, I received a lot of Hand-me-downs, faded from use in the way that a Vintage tee appeals to us nowadays (perhaps I was a trendsetter?) . One of the memorable items though, was a leopard swim brief that I have been pictured wearing on the beaches of Cornwall in the late eighties!

Somehow, even though they were my brothers before me, they became synonymous with me! They are a talking point at family get togethers even to this day, when people will recount my love of these swimbriefs as though my five year old self walked into a shop and demanded to be bought the stylish apparel! The friendly ribbing has been, and continues to be persistent!

Sepia tones.

So when I saw the familiar pattern and the quality finishes that we have come to know from S&B, I thought it was about time I reclaimed this story and wore my leopard briefs with pride! The briefs feature an almost brushed quality to the print which adds texture and the traditional contrast piping, in peach, gives the overall aesthetic a vintage feel which harks back to the heyday of eighties style.

They are a fuller coverage brief and feature a contoured front, which creates a great aesthetic as well as being super comfortable to wear. But the feature that I love the most is that the pattern from the briefs continue up onto the waistband, which is a great touch. After several many outings, the waist band remains in tact and no bending or folding over has occurred, so to be honest that’s a massive win too!

From a nostalgia point of view these have everything you need, but the modern design also means that they also look great on.
