ThatIsBeyond… March Fitness Check In

#gymlife

It is no secret that consistency is key, when it comes to fitness. I have now completed 98 weeks of completing 4 sessions a week every week… a level of consistency that I never thought I’d achieve, if I am honest!

My focus this month has been to utilise MYO reps on some exercises to maximise the muscle fibre activation over a sustained period to time with very short pauses between sets. This has two main functions for me, firstly that I can work towards failure and ensure I am stretching and developing my muscle’s potential and maximise on the the gains over these muscle groups, and secondly that the rest time save between sets ensures that I can also fit in some cardio into my fitness regime.

The focus has been taken away from the scales a) because that number is not my main focus and b) because my scales are broken! I have however ensured that I can get a high level of protein into my system to fuel my workouts and that I am sensible about what I am eating and what nutritional value everything that I eat, has.

Definition development.

I have noticed that I am able to focus much more successfully on my work outs and really feel the burn in specific muscle groups – and with that has come more definition, which mentally helps me to keep pushing forwards.

March has been very good to me.

So what will April bring? More of the same!

I will keep developing my routine and make the most of my gym time. I will focus on recovery practices and make sure that rest is factored in as much as possible, not wanting to further aggravate my aging right knee!

What are your fitness goals this month? Let me know in the comments.
