Today’s look is one that has to transcend internal meetings and client introductions. It’s also freezing, and I have an evening theatre trip to take some clients to… This outfit needs to work hard!
I have started with a blue/ marl base layer, a simple v neck t-shirt that adds texture to an otherwise basic item. The fit is not too tight, but flattering none the less.
£6 H&M.
Layered upon that is a very detailed, oversized “grandad cardigan” in a light biscuity colour. There are several different patterns that make up the design, which adds a lot of interest. I also love the statement that the large buttons make. This is an oversized piece with style and it is toasty warm to wear.
Again from H&M. And around the £35 mark, at the time (although I might have bought it in the sale!)
This grey jacket with tiny chevron textured stripes is a “go to” jacket that I wear all of the time! It features black contrast piping around the lapel and jacket edges, and offers an excellent basic fit. As always I have adorned this with a whimsical little dotted pocket square which ties in nicely with the cardigan.
I have pinned the pocket square, to hold this shape, as it is always moving around!
Jacket was from George (Asda) and around the £30 and the pocket square was £2 from Primark.
Again I have gone with some oversized knitwear, to add to the look and keep me warm in the evening.
This tonal colour-blocked scarf is enormous and works though Browns to khaki green to cream.
I fear that once again this was from H&M! It’s a lovely scarf, but I have no idea what I paid for it back in the day!
The jeans are from Cadence and they are super comfy, but with style. The stretch to the denim makes them super-wearable and the grey blue tone is a little different to your run of the mill jeans.
$110
Last but by no means least is my double monk strap black shoes from Lambretta. This is a design that is very much of the now, and I enjoy them casually or formally!
This brand has been particularly good for my wider fitting feet and they are really wearable, even for longer periods of time.
These were a gift, but are around the £45 – £60 mark.
So that is my outfit of the day, a compromise between formal and casualwear, with a bit of personal style thrown in.
